Our Recommendations

As you plan your journey, there’s a lot to keep in mind in preparation for a week of excitement. Gather a crew of friends who are fun, responsible, and ready to live like a family for a week in close quarters on your boat. Don’t forget to also book a skipper so that you’ll have an expert navigator for those long days of boozy fun. Keep the trip silly by bringing costumes, floaties, face paint, and plenty of props to make your photo stream memorable. Pack only necessary items to save space on your yacht—a waterproof phone case, non-slip shoes, and an AUX cord are just a few essentials to make your excursion perfect. Each of The Yacht Week’s routes have their own unique experience to offer, with a few standing out as favorites among attendees.

Croatia

For those with an affinity for a wild party, Croatia may be the destination for you. One of the most popular of all the routes, the Croatia experience will have you partying at beautiful Fort George or dancing it out to EDM mixes at Club Vanilla. The Croatian coast is one-of-a-kind and you’ll get to join as many as 50 other boats of travelers ready to thrill seek alongside you. Put some money aside for port fees and bottle service to ensure you’re all set for expenses throughout the week. Shorter sailing days on this route leave plenty of time to focus on letting loose as you make lifelong friends on the Croatian waters.

Greece

There’s something for everyone when you take in a week of Greek culture during this stunning route. Treat yourself to bottle service at one of their many nightlife and day party events throughout the week—Ermioni Island’s White Party is a classic that will have you decked out in your brightest whites to sip drinks on the ocean. With plenty of activities to do on land, explore each island and experience both tourist and local culture for an added bonus to your sea excursion. Port fees are a breeze on the Greek route, so use the extra cash for fuel during the long sailing days.

British Virgin Islands

Sail through the tropics during the Caribbean BVI route, fit for a relaxing escape into the sparkling blue waters. Become one with the ocean by snorkeling, exploring the natural baths or getting lost in the numerous underwater caves. Locals will have you loving life with their deliciously made rum drinks and fresh seafood right at your fingertips. With more availability for a catamaran on this route, splurge on the upgrade to take advantage of the extra space and make the most of your trip. You’ll also want to set aside a hefty shopping fund for this destination, but beautiful ocean views will make up for the island prices. Day parties will be the peak of your journey as you dance in the sand under the clear, blue Caribbean sky.

Dance in the Desert at The Neon Carnival

Over the years, the annual Neon Carnival has blossomed into becoming one of Coachella’s most highly-coveted party wristbands. The A-list guest list limited to celebrities, influencers, and industry insiders creates an incredible night as guests indulge in carnival games, rides, and unforgettable live performances in the middle of the desert. This highly sought-after invite grants you exclusive access to experience the social event of the year.

Photo: Neon Carnival

Weekend Three Announced

The carnival has typically been held for one night only late on the Saturday night of Coachella weekend one each year, but has recently expanded to include a second day of revelry. Partygoers can now also attend during the unofficial “weekend three,” which coincides with Goldenvoice’s other Indio festival Stagecoach.

Photo: Brent Bolthouse and Alessandra Ambrosio at Neon Carnival – Getty Images

Neon Carnival presented by Levis and Bondi Sands

The carnival is managed by nightlife impresario Brent Bolthouse—the creative behind Santa Monica and Huntington Beach’s well-admired Bungalow bars, set to open their third location in Long Beach. His impact in the industry spans decades, leading his company Bolthouse Productions to continuously impress with their creativity, detail, and knack for orchestrating a good time.

In the early Neon Carnival days, the party was an even more exclusive indoor event at the Barker Hangar in Thermal, CA. It was a party fully-stocked with Hollywood elites as a private place to escape to after the festival with only a few-hundred guests on the invite list. The outdoor carnival aspect didn’t come into play until 2010, inspired by another of Bolthouse’s famous private parties held at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Each year the Neon Carnival has grown, with the event switching locations in 2018 to HITS Desert Horse Park, a larger space for an increased guest list of 8,000 attendees. The new guest list has expanded even further for 2019 with the addition of a second night.

Past Neon Carnival events are well-known for drawing in a kaleidoscope of A-listers. It may be no surprise that attendees have included regular clubgoers like Drake, Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Paris Hilton, but when Hollywood royalty like Leonardo Dicaprio and Clint Eastwood also show up for the festivities, the carnival’s status is cemented as being the best of the best.

Photo: Neon Carnival – Jesse Grant/Getty Images

The Neon Carnival is an invite-only event.

The big question hopeful attendees have each year is, “How do you get a wristband?” Bolthouse cites close-knit industry relationships as being the number one source for the guest list. Invites go out to talent agencies, record labels, and the numerous nightlife connections Bolthouse has developed over the years. The curated selection of invitees are given a time and place for advanced check-in where they pick up their wristbands within the weeks prior to the event. The sale of knock-offs online are a given for an event of this prominence, but Bolthouse ensures that the official wristbands can’t be removed for resale. Entry for the priceless event can’t be purchased, where even the extremely limited number of bottle service tables are quickly bought up by invited VIPs.

Photo: Neon Carnival – Donovan Justin Gonzalez

With its 2019 expansion, the brand has opened up the attendee pool by allowing potential guests to request guestlist access on the Neon Carnival website. Invites will still be given at the discretion of Bolthouse Productions, with influencers and highly-followed Instagram accounts likely to receive priority. According to Bolthouse himself, anyone with a dream of waltzing into the event is best off getting to know him personally through one of his many bar and nightlife ventures.

The 2019 event will be bringing back their resident performer DJ Ruckus along with Kayper and an unannounced guest performer to take the stage. You won’t miss out on any Coachella acts as the Carnival is always held after the closing artist has ended. Neon Carnival has never been directly affiliated with the festival and has always been an event for post-Coachella, which has helped cultivate a friendship rather than competition between the two events.

Photo: Donovan Justin Gonzalez

Whether you’re one of the lucky invited guests, or a spectator hoping to make it to the list one day, excitement continues to mount as all eyes will be on the Neon Carnival this Coachella season. Its tenth installment will be sure to bring new surprises as guests party until the sun comes up at one of the hottest social events of the year.

Top Tips for a Luxury Coachella Adventure

One of the hottest festivals in the country, The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, is known for its internationally-acclaimed lineup, fashionable attendees, and summery location in the Coachella Valley desert of Southern California. If you’re planning to attend this world-renowned event, there are plenty of things to keep in mind to make the most of your musical getaway. Prepare for a weekend to remember through following these tips to making your luxury Coachella experience magical.

Rent a Private Home

With such a limited number of hotels in the area, people often book their Coachella stay at least a year in advance. Rather than having a typical hotel experience, renting a home or villa is a great way to maximize your fun with a group of friends. Palm Springs is known for its mid-century design elements that will give your lavish stay a unique atmosphere.

Hire a Chauffeur

Those who live within driving distance to the area often prefer to hit the road instead of worrying about the hassle of flying. If driving is more your speed, consider hiring a private chauffeur for the weekend to lead you to wherever your adventure takes you. You won’t have to skip out on toasting glasses with friends and you can enjoy some much needed R&R during the ride.

Attend the Exclusive Parties

While Coachella may be a big party on its own, the number of branded and sponsored events that occur throughout the weekend grows each year. Some are more exclusive than others, and if you know the right person, you can get your name on the list for the hottest events of the season. From the annual Neon Carnival to the Bootsy Bellows Pop-Up event, A-listers are known to show up to these VIP extravaganzas.

Arrive in a Helicopter or Private Jet

For those who prefer to arrive to the area quickly, consider taking a helicopter trip to Palm Springs. You’ll get a beautiful scenic view of Southern California on your way, and won’t have to worry about traffic clogging up your good time. A private jet will also get you to the desert in no time and the comfortable seating will be well worth it.

Shop Til You Drop

With a reputation for being one of the most fashionable events of the year, you’ll want to make sure you curate your look to be exactly your style. Palm Springs is known for its variety of shopping outlets, and you’ll have a great time adding finishing touches to your outfits at their many designer boutiques. Take a pit stop in the area and indulge in a few new pieces to make your weekend wardrobe festival-ready.

Hire a Private Chef

As much as you may believe you’ll have time to cook during the weekend, a private chef will make your experience far more enjoyable. Having a chef make a few meals at your private home leaves you and your group free to truly relax when you’re not at the festival. A home cooked meal is just what you’ll need to stay energized for all those wild days in the summery heat.
